river remains exceptionally low, and clear to 1m. Fish responding well to trotted maggot mostly chub, several catches of dace and grayling included.

Pike best 19lb 6oz, 17lb 2oz. 

 

DECEMBER 23RD

River low slight colour falling

DECEMBER 8TH

River up 12" today, clear to 6", steady, Yesterday bag of 6 chub to 5lbs+ included a barbel of 8lbs, all float fished 

 

OCTOBER 9TH

Recent Barbel catches include fish of 14lbs 9oz, 13lbs 7oz, and 12lbs 15oz, 2 of 12lbs+

Two anglers had a brace each of 8lbs and 7lbs:   and 8lbs and 9lbs.

Another had a chub of 7lbs 9oz and a barbel of 9lbs from the riffle. 

SEPT 26TH

Bob Roe landed a trio of Barbel at 15lbs 0oz ,14lbs 7oz, and 10lbs 12oz, and one got away! 

 

SEPT 25TH

Barbel 12lbs 4oz,,Breamore 

 

SEPT 18TH

River very clear, weed just starting to die back, Barbel today, 15lbs 9oz, downstream of riffle. 

 SEPT 2011

Weed cut, South charford weir upstream, west bank,opposite island ,Hale Bridge right bank downstream to riffle,Woodgreen riffle to dogleg, both banks.

This week barbel 12lbs, 11lbs, 8lbs, chub 6lbs 2oz.

 

 AUGUST 2011

River clear, weed growth peaking about now, weed cut at north Charford weir, and the channel on the west side of the island, Woodgreen areas will be cut 29th august onwards, good bags of dace all through the fishery, a 6lbs barbel caught trotting at Woodgreen, a 6.5lbs Seatrout was landed at the riffle, Perch to 2lbs included in bags of up to 10 perch, increased numbers of small roach at Charford and the dogleg. bags of chub to 5.5lbs on trotted maggot and the heaviest barbel so far this year at 11lbs 10oz 

 JULY 2011,

River clear, weed growth very poor, many clear areas, ranunculus has barely grown this year, the path to North Charford weir has been strimmed, large bags of chub to 5lbs, best this week 6lbs 4oz and 7lbs 9oz, plenty of dace to trotted maggots,barbel not showing in numbers but best fish 11lbs 7oz, and 10lbs 12oz, this week.

Mayfly still hatching, trout,  grayling, dace and chub, all providing sport on dry flies.  

 

 

May 25th  2011, River very low, stock fish introduced recently, Mayfly hatching on warmer days and trout rising,

 barbel and chub are gathering on the shallows, ready to spawn.

Wednesday  29th Dec 2010, River very low, clear to 1m+ . Pike and chub feeding, 8 pike to 15lbs landed by one angler, chub to 5lbs on float fished maggot,

2010

September /October  2 x barbel of 14.5lbs 3 x  of 13lbs+ A trio of 11lbs, 9lbs, and 9lbs, several braces best at 10lbs,and 9lbs, bags of dace to 20lbs catches of up to 8 chub of 3lbs+ including 2 of 5lbs+, a few roach to 1.25lbs, River clear, weed dying back, level low, hatch of mayfly, 8-10-10!

July 22nd, The path to the top weir on Charford island has been strimmed.

July 15th, river clear, weed growth less than previous years, good bags of dace, to 14oz, plenty of chub many of 5lbs + 

Barbel starting to show several low doubles so far, grayling on trotted maggot at Charford, occasional roach at Woodgreen

Mayfly hatch started on 29th May, now increasing daily, trout rising 

Trout were stocked on 21st April, at the riffle, good hatches of sedges at the moment.
